We are looking for a Diesel Generator Electrical Commissioning Engineer for our client working on the Olkiluoto 3 project. Work starts in October 2017 and the estimated duration is 3 months.
The person will be in charge of following activities:

  • Verifying the electrical commissioning procedures adequately commission diesel generators per standard nuclear and industry standards
  • Perform commissioning activities and test procedures associated to large Diesel generator systems with specific focus on
    • Excitation system
    • Synchronization modules
    • Protection relays
    • Control Panels
    • PLC controlled
  • Supporting troubleshooting of complex electrical issues associated with the electrical components of the Diesel Generator unit and adhered auxiliary equipment
  • Maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail in documenting commissioning results
  • Interfacing with the Finnish nuclear regulator concerning commissioning test practices and test results
  • Interfacing with the client concerning commissioning test practices and test results
  • Quality, schedule and safety of all commissioning activities in his/her branch, in particular:
    • Perform all commissioning work in compliance with the Finnish electrical law
    • Support the timely execution of diesel generator scheduled tasks
    • Verifying commissioning test results support safe operation of the diesel generators

  • The candidate should be able to get familiarized with the technique in a short time frame
  • Electrical qualification degree required in one of the following disciplines: Electrical installation, service and maintenance works, troubleshooting on electrical systems.
  • 5 plus years, experience of commissioning tasks on electrical systems at large industrial installations or power generator plants (Nuclear, Process systems, Oil & Gas, Production chain). Diesel generator commissioning duties are well understood and have been executed extensively.
  • Experience obtained with MV/LV switchgear

  • Fluent English is required
  • Ability with French, German or Finnish would be a plus
Other beneficial skills:

  • Nuclear installation and power plant experience
  • Experience in overall Commissioning tests, participation to testing, support for cold or hot functional testing
  • Working in a team with other engineers and technicians and cooperate with other disciplines
  • Valid SFS 6002 certificate
  • 1st aid training
