We are looking for Construction Area Coordinators for our client working on the Olkiluoto 3 project. Work starts first of November 2016, estimated duration is 6-8 months.


The CAC reports directly to the Construction Area Coordinator manager. he is responsi-ble for the coordination of construction activities in assigned buildings in compliance with Safety, Quality and partial Time Schedule targets.

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordinate construction operations within Buildings to ensure efficient and orderly installation of each sequence of work;
  • Coordinate construction operations included under different trades that depend on each other for proper installation, connection, and operation;
  • Organizing construction activities in the correct logical sequence taking account of dependencies in the installation sequence for components and subsequent construc-tion activities while minimizing duration:
    accordance with TPS;
  • Using the information contained in the Sub-contractor’s detailed Time Schedule to de-conflict operations within area of his responsibility;
  • Coordinate and respect the highest HSE standards as set for the OL3 project;
  • Plan construction operation in a sequence that provides de-confliction between trades to ensure that multiple tasks within a particular area can be undertaken safely and effectively;
  • Where necessary, prepare a Coordination Statement for distribution to each party involved, outlining special procedures required for coordination. Include such items as required notices, reports, and attendance at meetings;
  • Organize and lead building coordination meetings to achieve sub-contractor consen-sus for consolidated schedule and associated Coordination Drawings;– Conduct Daily meetings on—site at the Visual Board (which are dedicated focal point for each building) to coordinate tasks in accordance with consolidated schedule;
  • Visual Boards: to be placed by the Area Coordinator who will be responsible for controlling and maintaining the information displayed periodically (daily when re-quired)
  • Coordinate scheduling and timing of required procedures with other construction ac-tivities to avoid conflicts and assure orderly progress of the work
  • Ensure production of coordination drawings to complete detailed coordination of all site activities and to integrate additional information about the installation areas such as room/area blockage, storage areas, permit to work and others

Skills required:

  • Engineer (Electrical, civil or mechanical) or equivalent with substantial experience of multi-discipline supervision on large construction projects
  • Minimum 10 years of experience I related projects
  • Engineering qualification, apprentice or equivalent experience
  • Sound knowledge of all construction aspects of delivering major process plant capi-tal projects in an international environment including the final construction and commissioning phases
  • Specific nuclear project experience is NOT necessary
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Team player, proactive, strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Good planning and organizing skills
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
